NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Center

Yankton, South Dakota is the home of National Field Archery Association, and the first of the Easton Archery Centers. The NFAA Headquarters includes multiple outdoor field archery ranges and a FITA range, an indoor range with a raised viewers mezzanine, two classrooms, and an expansion area for a future museum or additional offices.

The NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Center offers many opportunities for beginning archers as well as the more experienced. We offer the After School Archery Program for children in grades 2 through 8 and also summer classes for children ages 7 and up. These are opportunities for kids to get an introduction to archery under direct supervision of trained coaches, in a fun atmosphere. We are in the process of organizing a beginners archery class for all ages interested in learning the sport of archery.

Indoor Range

The indoor range has 20 targets, with 40 shooting lanes, in a climate controlled environment for year round shooting. Archers can use the range for general practice or join one of the various leagues offered throughout the year. The range can also accommodate FITA 25 meter shooting. We offer bow rental for those who don’t own a bow. The hours for the range are Monday through Friday 9am to 9pm, Saturday 10am to 7pm, and Sunday 12pm to 7pm (the range may be closed for special events).

Consisting of 9000 square feet, the range has plenty of space and can be rented for special events such as trade shows, fund raisers, scouting events, birthday parties, etc. The range also has a 100 seat mezzanine, a concessions room with locking roll down window, bow storage area, and bow tuning equipment. In addition, the facility has two classrooms, one 96 seat and one 50 seat, that can be rented for meetings or educational opportunities. Each classroom has a 40″ flat screen tv with computer networking capabilities. These classrooms host all of the Hunt Safe and Bowhunter Education classes in the area. We also have several offices that are available to be rented by archery specific manufacturers looking to start a business. These were constructed in a cooperative venture between NFAA Foundation and Yankton Economic Development.

Our facility has two certified coaches on staff. Eric Tollefson is an Olympic level 4 coach and Bill Conkling is a NFAA certified coach. Both are available for individual lessons by appointment.

Outdoor Ranges

We are fortunate to have four field/3-D ranges at our facility. Each range consists of 28 targets, with shot distances ranging from 10 yards to 80 yards. This form of archery is great practice for hunting as well as good exercise. We host several 3-D tournaments throughout the summer including the NFAA 3-D, Whitetail Classic, and Riverboat Days 3-D, as well as a 3-D league during the summer.

The outdoor target/FITA field is used to train future Olympians, host the First Dakota Classic tournament and, through a joint venture with Mount Marty College, this field will also play host to Mount Marty’s home soccer games.

Opened in May 2010, the NFAA owned “KOA Kampground” includes pull through camp pads, tent area, and lodges – all on our complex.
